QUIET GARDEN...
On Saturday 26th June the group enjoyed a splendid afternoon in glorious sunshine at Westfield Farm in Sheffif Hutton. The afternoon included:
- wonderful entertainment from the Merrybank Singers, a superb local male voice choir
- a scrumptuous afternoon tea
- a raffle, which raised over £140!
- a bucks fizz reception, with friendly conversation
- walking around the beautiful farm gardens

STEP-BY-STEP SUCCESS!
York Speakability has celebrated its first successful purchase and use of Step-by-step - a computer programmed designed by Speech & Language Therapists to help people with Aphasia in their own homes. Through fund-raising activities over the past year the group has raised money for a lap-top and the Step-by-Step program for group members to work through at home.
Our first lap-top and software package has gone to York Speakability member Gill Houlden. We wish her luck with the program! 
HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY YORK SPEAKABILITY!
In November York Speakability celebrated its 10th Anniversary! York Speakability is one of the longest running Speakability groups - what an achievment!
The group celebrated in style!
We enjoyed a 10th Birthday party at Springhill Court in Easingold, complete with a buffet lunch, birthday cake, entertainment from the wonderful Judith Laity, and wine served by Mike Carter! A wonderful time was had by all.

The group also enjoyed a champagne reception and three course birthday luncheon at the beautiful Middlethorpe Hall.

York District Hospital Stall
In October we had a great day selling goodies at York District Hospital. The stall was a great success and we raised a huge £515 for York Speakability. Thank you to everyone who helped to make it such a success!
